She is brand spanking new at 2 weeks old.

We say to her..."Go take the world by tail girl".
Our congratulations go to James Edward Sifton and his wife.

Also to Debra Sifton the grandmother.

.............CAMACHO

Two more cousins have recently been located.
Actually, it was Mary Margaret Becker and her husband, George,
who found them.
However, it turns out
that they were searching for the rest of the Gillies family.

Their names are Jeanne Lackey whose husband's name is Bill, and Janice Camacho whose husband's name is Richard.

They are both the daughters of our Uncle Donald Gillies.

I would like to say to them...

"Welcome aboard our great family and we hope to see you at the next Family Re-union".

Pronunciations:

Gillies...gil-ēz or gil-is? The "e" in Gillies is silent---someone once said that it is a Scottish thing---but that it never affects the spelling. That being said, the correct pronunciation is gil-is.

The Meaning Of Our Surname:

The name Gillies in Gaelic terms means ' Servant of Jesus'. The name has been recorded since the early twelfth century and was mainly a surname from the thirteenth century onwards. The Gillies family were of immense talent in the nineteenth century when they began to flourish. Lord Gillies, Adam, was a judge and his brother a historiographer royal for Scotland. Margaret, their niece, was a painter and Sir William Gillies followed in the same footsteps and became a Scottish landscape painter, whose work is one of the best in Scotland today. It is now well known throughout Scotland and in some other parts of the world.
